Enjoy contemporary art along with sunshine and set out for a free walking tour to see the Prague Metamorphosis by David Černý. Outdoor art is a favourite genre of the famous Czech artist. Let us take you for a walk through the centre of Prague to see some of his art work.
Explore the Franz Kafka Museum and watch 2 gentlemen peeing in a pool shaped like the Czech Republic. The giant babies with a barcode instead of a face offer a contrasting chilling feeling in Kampa Park just 2 minutes away (more of them can be seen climbing up the Žižkov TV tower). Cross the river and discover the Embryo on the wall of Divadlo Na zábradlí.
Now, if you feel like you need a psychiatrist by now just hang on for 5 more minutes. Pause at the junction of Na Perštýně and Jilská and look at the sky. Don’t panic, the Hanging Man there can’t hurt himself. It’s Sigmund Freud.
Relax just 3 minutes away from here right behind the My Národní shopping centre watching Metamorphosis of the ever changing face of Franz Kafka. Continue in the direction to Wenceslas Square, to Lucerna shopping arcade, where St. Wenceslas sitting on his horse hanging upside down will make you thinking what was the artist trying to say.
Finally visit the MeetFactory at Smíchov founded in 2001 by David Černý as a contemporary art centre - have a beer, check out the melting cars on the facade and explore the inside, where exhibitions and concerts are held. Conclude your tour of controversial art by seeing Brownnosing at the FUTURA gallery.
Enjoy provoking Prague contemporary art outdoors.
