Firstly it is honest to say that planning to get around Prague by car during you visit isn´t a good idea at all. The main autoroutes are known for traffic jams and Prague drivers are famous for their rude manners. Parking is also a big problem. But on the other hand, a car may be useful if you wish to go for some day trips out of the capital.
Hiring a rental right at the airport is very popular among tourist thoughout the world. At Václav Havel airport in Prague, all the car renting companies are located in the ground floor of the C Parking building. Choose from Avis, Budget, Hertz, Sixt and 4 other rental companies. You may come across some conditions under which you may rent a car - a drivers licence older than 6 months, in case of luxury vehicles 3 years. Some companies may rent a car only to drivers over 21 or 23 concerning higher class vehicles. An international driving licence may be a necessity too, so its always clever to check the requirements of particular rent-a-car companies in advance.
Branches of car rental companies can be found also in the Prague city centre - you won´t make a mistake when asking around the main train stations and the Old Town. But since you are already in the centre - there is a very stylish way to look around and see the sights without tiring your feet. Rent a veteran car with a driver! A vintage Škoda will take you around the Old Town or to the Prague Castle and back for an estimate of 50 euros. Up to 10 people can fit in some vintage Praga models!
A better idea than to jangle your nerves in Prague´s crazy traffic is to rent a supercar of your dreams for an adrenaline ride - on the highway or a special racing circuit. ActiveCzech.com can hook you up with a Lamborghini, a Ferrari and much more. A supercar driving experience is much more fun than waiting at traffic lights. Choose public transport for getting around Prague and you´ll have much more energy to try something special.
